Who We Are

At FurEverBond, we are a specialized animal bodywork practice dedicated to supporting the physical, emotional, and energetic well-being of your animal. Using evidence-informed, hands-on modalities — including massage, acupressure, manual lymphatic drainage, myofascial release (improving spinal restrictions via connective tissue), kinesiology taping, and sound healing — we work alongside you and your veterinary team to help your animal thrive.

Our mission is to support the health and wholeness of your animal through skilled, compassionate bodywork — and to empower you as their caretaker with the knowledge and tools to continue that care at home.

We are proud to be a Latina-owned, fully insured, and Fear Free Certified practice serving the DMV Metro area (DC, Maryland, Virginia) — and beyond.

Who We Work With

We work with dogs, cats, horses, and other four-legged animals. Our sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each animal and are offered as a mobile service — we come to you — or at our partner clinics, Harmony Animal Hospital & AquaticPaws.

Our Values

Collaboration

We believe the best outcomes happen when we work as a team. We partner with you, your animal, and your veterinary care providers at every step — combining our bodywork expertise with your deep knowledge of your pet to create a plan that truly fits.

Compassionate Curiosity

We take the time to listen, ask questions, and understand both you and your animal’s unique needs. Our approach is always compassionate and non-judgmental, creating space for open, two-way communication so we can deliver genuinely personalized care.

Empowerment Through Education

Lasting change happens when you feel informed and empowered. We make it a priority to share the knowledge and tools you need — from understanding your animal’s body to practicing simple techniques at home — so the work continues long after each session ends.

Accountability to Self

A healthy relationship with your animal is a two-way street. We encourage reflection on what each of us brings to the relationship, recognizing that our own awareness and intention directly shape our animal’s well-being.

Harmony

When your animal feels balanced and at ease, that harmony ripples outward — reducing stress, strengthening the bond between you, and bringing a greater sense of calm to your everyday life together.

Meet Raquel — Owner & Practitioner

I have had a deep passion for the well-being of animals since before I can remember. From a very young age, I was able to understand the needs of animals by reading their energy, body language, and vocal cues. My Aunt — a holistic healing practitioner for humans — guided me as I began exploring the world of holistic care, helping me develop a strong sense of both self and my innate connection with animals.

That connection was tested and deepened when my dog KC was diagnosed with late-stage osteosarcoma and given just three months to live. I turned to a well-known acupuncturist and animal bodywork practitioner in Seattle, and through weekly treatments and Chinese herbal support, KC’s prognosis of three months became far more — additional time filled with comfort, joy, and companionship. It was a profound experience that changed the course of my life.

After KC passed in 2019, my passion for animal well-being was reignited. I committed to educating myself and building the skills to offer others what had been so transformative for us.

The Human–Animal Bond

Through my studies, I’ve come to understand that physical bodywork and the human–animal relationship are deeply intertwined. When an animal feels safe, understood, and physically at ease, the bond between animal and human deepens naturally. This understanding shapes every session I offer — the goal is never just physical relief, but a more harmonious, trusting relationship between you and your animal.

“At my core, I’ve always known who I am. I’m a person who connects deeply with animals, and I’m a person who intuitively understands the importance of healthy relationships between animals and their humans. I believe that the ‘FurEver’ bond between an animal and human is one of the most uniquely meaningful bonds that one can experience in their lifetime.”
